Concrete walls

The footings were stripped on March 19, the same day the wall forms were delivered.  Late Monday afternoon March 23 all the outside wall forms were in place ready for the structural reinforcing bar.  We set the elevation of the home so the front left corner of the house has less about 6" of slope from the house to the sidewalk.  The garage floor will be dropped by 3' to accommodate the slope in the sidewalk, this will give the left side of  the driveway 4" of slope from the front of the garage to the sidewalk while the right side of the driveway will follow natural slope of the sidewalk.

Excavation & Footings

Excavation started early march, we added fill material from the folks at Kirshner Mountain Developments placed it with our excavator and packed in 12" lifts with a 66" drive on roller packer.  Geotechnical inspection were inspected and passed by  Horizon Geotechnical.  The lot was surveyed by BC Surveyors and we placed the forms exactly on top of the survey pins.  The footing forms and placement of the 15 mm steel rebar was inspected by AccuTtruss, our structural engineer and the city of Kelowna.  The footings were poured the same day the building permit was issued, on March 18.
